I’ve been doing a lot of thinking since CNN aired the Blacks in America special.
And the one thing that was never mentioned during the program was the fact that American Black folks, although we’ve been in this country more than 400 years, and change, are from different tribes.
Now this may sound a little crazy to you. But what makes us so different than all of the white tribes?
I mean you have Germans, Italians, and Irish etc... And we don’t hear one word about them not getting along. In the East Coast cities they are segregated, and like it that way. Now I know some folks hang together no matter what race they are. But do you see my point?
Just because we’re Black doesn’t mean we're all in this thing together. I have some friends, and then I have a hell of a lot of acquaintances. I find myself bonding with some, and not with others.
It makes me mad sometimes that we are expected to live together in harmony and bliss. African people come from a vast country. Thousands of tribes, with millions of different thoughts and actions.
Maybe we're not as alike as some would prefer to think.
Just a thought. Just a thought.
You all have a great and blessed day. PEACE!
Daddy.
