10-21-08I lost my mother and father in 1996. It was a very trying time for not only me and my sister, but for the whole family, paternal, and maternal.
Even though I had been a fully grown man for some time, the loss left me feeling lost and alone. It was a feeling of what do I do now? Of course you go on but there is still the thought of something major missing in your life.
Barack Obama may be losing his grandmother a little sooner than he expected, which is always the way in death. To the individual the loss starts as why me. That is until you have a few days to sit down and search your thoughts for the key to reopening that door that will take you back into everyday life.

It’s sad that Barack Obama will not have that “down time” to recover. He will have to buck up, and hit back to the campaign. He will have to endure the attacks now coming from all sides of McCain/Palin. He will have to put his beloved Toot in a safe place in the back of his mind to deal with at a later date.
I for one do not envy this time in Obama’s life. But the one thing I know for sure is if his grandmother doesn’t make it, that as long as brother doesn’t go postal, he will emerge from the other end of the dark to brilliant light. He will make it through this dark time because of the lessons learned from his mother, grandmother, and grandfather. They may not be with you physically, but they will always be with you in spirit. They will always be with you in those lessons learned through childhood to adolescence. They will always be with you in memories of a happy time in your life. They are entwined in that character that you carry so well.
We have seen already how he deals with pressure. And we will see in the future how he will deal with this. I have faith in the brother to come through and stand in that brilliant light of life.

I truly hope your grandmother pulls through. It would be a great day for her to see the child she brought up become the next President of the United States of America. It WILL be a great day for her to see that. Even though it took more than 400 years, a change is gonna come. Yes, a change is gonna come and it will truly be a great day.
Please if you have the time, please send your best wishes on the Obama site. Let him know that his new family is with him one hundred percent, and we will not let him down, not now, not ever.
