When we were in Texarkana last week, there were signs in people's yards
that said, " America , prayer our only hope" with 2 Chron. 7:14
underneath. We certainly need God's help!
I have no idea who started this, but I certainly agree with this e-mail. I
heard a preacher on TV tonight that said if we will pray for our nation that
things will turn around
After a day of contemplation and soul searching, I have decided to reach
out to my friends and relatives and ask you to do something that has been
troubling me for a long time.
Our nation is/has been on the slippery slope for a long time. If you look
around you will find corruption, greed, moral decay, and a steady move
away from the things that made us great. The principles upon which this
nation was founded are no longer our backbone. However, we can reverse
this trend.
2 Chron. 7:14 In God's word he states,"If my people who are called by my
name will humble themselves and pray and seek my face and turn from their
wicked ways, then I will hear from heaven and will forgive their sin and
heal their land."
I am convinced that we must pray for our nation and its leaders and ask
for forgiveness. So I ask you to join me in this plea to our Lord.
Would you please send this to people in your address book (send it to all
of them); ask them to pray EVERYDAY. (25 to the 5th power is
9,765,625 people.) IMAGINE if each person reaches TEN others...or all
TWENTY FIVE!
If you do and they comply, we will lift up millions and millions of
prayers a day to our Creator. He will hear us and in faith will answer.
Let me just add a quote from Ronald Reagan "If we ever forget that we are
one nation under God, then we will be a nation gone under." I truly
believe this is why the United States of America is in the shape we are in
today. Most people have forgotten that we are one nation under God! Let us
as Christians stand up and remind people of this ~ Have a blessed day!

care deeply, speak kindly, and
leave the rest to God."

Daddy:
I sincerely HOPE this is a genuine video. I must admit, I have BIG doubts ... for multiple reasons.
Nevertheless, if it IS real, then I applaud this young Black man for attempting to be forthright about his relationship with Bristol Palin.
Note well: I DO NOT condone or approve of unprotected adolescent sex. Teen pregnancy is a deplorably commonplace phenomenon in this country. Young people need to be well-informed about the benefits of abstinence primarily, and CONTRACEPTION secondarily.
My take is simply this: don't allow the natural and completely understandable desires of puberty and young adulthood cause the tragedy of early and unplanned PARENTHOOD! It is best to abstain, but if you must copulate ... sex does NOT have to result in pregancy.
OK, I'm off that soapbox.
Again, if he IS the father of young Ms. Palin's child, then the fact that he WANTS to be a part of his/her life is laudable. Indeed, we need MORE young men like him, and I emphatically encourage him to claim his parental rights through EVERY available means - negotiation, reason, litigation and otherwise. He and his future son or daughter will be the lifelong beneficiaries of his struggle for integrity in the face of overwhelming opposition.
Of course, the fact that two teenagers had unprotected sex - probably more than ONCE in the short span of several weeks - and that the daughter of the GOP nominee for Vice President violated her relationship with her White boyfriend for a Black man, does say MUCH about the moral fiber of the Palin offspring. Moreover, it makes ME - an African-American male parent of a teenager - go ... awww geez, here we go again with the same old hackneyed Jim Crow psychodrama!
Further, Bristol's proud parents - the upstanding citizens of Wasilla, AK - attempt to COVER up her unpardonable sin with a SHOTGUN-marriage-in-the-making to the erstwhile boyfriend.
It truly speaks VOLUMES don't it?!?
And when it speaks to me what it says - LOUD AND CLEAR - is racism, small-town provincial thinking and the desire to force a teenage ingenue (whose decision-making is clearly commensurate with her youth) into a premature teenage marriage - decidedly against the obvious long odds of marital longevity - rather than admit to the possibility of a sexual encounter with an African-American youngster. Can it get any more transparent? Any more typically privileged-class? Any more digusting? I think NOT!
Why don't the Palin's simply call out the Great Alaskan LYNCHING Posse and string up this sambo/jungle bunny/spear chucker/darky/shadow/NIGGER BO' like they used to do it back in the good ol' days on the Great Northern Frontier?
At least then, they'd be TRUE to their HERITAGE. 'Nuff said!
Daddy, I hope your readers are as OUTRAGED as I am!
Peezy fo' sheezy ...
It is hard to comment on something that is near impossible to prove/disprove.
If this boy's story is true, then it is worthy of propagation and discussion. If not, then it is a story as disgraceful as Larry Sinclair's.
